About the event

Troop 915 is heading up to Mt. Pinos for their annual winter camp, where scouts will test their skills against the challenges of cold-weather camping. Some years the mountain greets them with blankets of snow, while other years it’s crisp and dry—but always a lesson in being prepared. Scouts will practice how to set up a campsite in adverse winter conditions, learning how to pitch tents in cold ground, insulate sleeping areas, manage clothing layers, and cook hearty meals in chilly weather. Beyond survival skills, the campout is about teamwork, resilience, and the adventure of the mountains in winter—whether the landscape is snowy white or just dusted with frost. Evenings will be spent around the campfire, sharing stories beneath Mt. Pinos’ famously clear night skies.
